In addition to our specialist works to historic and traditional buildings, as building contractors, we also carry out building research for various Clients, Architects and Local Authorities. Each year we put money aside to carry out a particular historic study of a local area or building for academic publication. In 1998, we researched, produced and financed a project on the development of Medieval Whitchurch, which was published in "Hampshire Studies".
In 1999, a project was undertaken on the very first medieval Hurstbourne House located close to St Andrew's Church in Hurstbourne Priors and in 2000 we extended our research on Hurstbourne House to include the history and development of the second Hurstbourne House, as designed and built by Wyatt.
In addition to the research work we carry out, we also have a Company library of nearly 2000 volumes of conservation and allied arts, which is used as a reference tool for our conservation work.
